The Challenge: While developing a personalized employee portal for the Federal Railroad Administration, the team needed to integrate a live weather widget. However, the default iconography provided by standard weather APIs was visually dated and completely clashed with the portal’s modernized, clean design system.
The Solution: Rather than compromising the UI, I illustrated a comprehensive, bespoke set of custom weather icons from scratch. I designed these scalable vector graphics to map perfectly to the API’s data outputs, resulting in a beautifully integrated widget that matched the agency’s visual identity.
