Arch

Passage (通道) Taken in the Forbidden City in Beijing, this abstract photograph captures a unique, high-contrast perspective of an ancient archway. The goal was to take this single 2D digital capture and elevate it into a commanding physical environmental design piece.

54 Frame Installation

The Challenge: To display this piece as a massive, 54-frame installation, I needed to perfectly align the grid on an uneven, 100-year-old plaster wall. The core technical challenge was achieving millimeter-precise spacing without compromising the structural integrity of the room.

The Solution: Rather than attempting to mount each frame directly to the unpredictable plaster, I engineered and fabricated a custom, adjustable wooden suspension grid. By designing, building, and staining this underlying framework from scratch, I created a perfectly leveled, forgiving base that allowed for flawless alignment of all 54 individual panels.
